What’s On Tonight?: The Tomorrow War
Based on 2022. Humans from 2051 comes back and tell the humans of 2022 that aliens are wiping out the human existing in 2051 and they need to help them save our existence. So they have a draft, including only people who are going to die before the 2051 war. So a brave father by the name Dan Forester jumps into the future to save his family from dying in the future. Spoiler along the way he finds his toddler daughter now in the future she’s in her 30s and he’s supposed to be dead. If that didn’t hook you already, then I don’t know what would. I watched this one Saturday night with some friends and it was exceptional. Then again, the other day with my grandma and it was crazy both times. The plot will hook you and keep you wondering where did they come from until the very end.
Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) ability to put his life on the line to save the world in 2051 was crazy. The travel to the future was crazy. They sent over a 100 people to the future but most died on arrival. I loved the plot of this movie. The daddy issues between Dan and his old man and how it transferred to issues with Dan and his daughter Muri later on in the future.
The end raises questions for me. When you realize that the aliens known as White spikes were just cargo in the ship they found. Was they going to be used as weapons for earth or another planet? The aliens driving who crashed and died wasn’t even the same type of alien. What were they? So who was the intended target? Was their multiple ships involved? What planet were they from? Just questions I wish were answered or a sequel could be in the works.
After looking at the reviews, some don’t like the funny outburst that came with the movie. Mainly by Charlie (Sam Richardson) and Cowan (Mike Mitchell). I liked it. They brought the realism to it. Their outburst was more nervous and real to their character. They were scared of the draft and the situation they were in, and I think it made it better. Gave you characters to relate to. In the end, I really enjoyed this movie. I liked the plot a lot. A lot of reviews didn’t agree with me, but I’ll leave it up to you to tell me what you think when you watch this movie on prime.
