Old Friend (Spoken Word)

The other day I got a visit from my old friend

I had my friend on my chest like a girlfriend

I haven’t seen him since the ninth grade

That time when I was so afraid

If I let him do what he wanted to do it would be a parade

I almost let him set it off like a grenade

It was going to come as a huge surprise

God wanted me to survive

So I’m still here and energize

When will I rise

Been living in lies

My peers been leading me through a path

I had to get away from that fast like a 40 yard dash

They only want cash

But I need to surpass

Just to go through my own path

My old friend came to lead me to the gates

It wasn’t my time yet

He told me I would soon be a vet

I will soon be a threat

To never let up

And never give up

To always trust your gut

To cut out the negative

No matter what relative

My old friend almost took me to god

But I stopped him

From committing one hell of a sin

Now I’m on a sprint to greatness

You and me will never meet again

I got too much to gain

Been through so much pain

Old friend its over for me and you

Monthly Rant 3

I like how cops say they shot someone on accident. Then get freedom. I wonder if I can shoot someone and say it was an accident. Would I still get freedom? I make a lot about cops because I really don’t like how some abuse their power. Just the other day I saw a cop suplex a female in front of her mom. She was handcuffed already.

Those moments like that is what cause these rants. The worst part is when someone actually believes their story and come at you because you don’t stand with them. If the evidence lined up and the officer was defending himself then yes I can stand too. But not when they are tackling or shooting someone repeatedly but they’re scared for their life.

I just wanted to do a quick rant for a second. Shout out to the good cops. You do good in this world but it’s overshadowed by the evil. The same evil that you turn a blind eye to. Just like some of my people turn a blind eye to the crimes they see on a daily. Well, follow me on all social media platforms. Like comment and subscribe to my mailing list. Power (Spoken Word)

Black power, black power

I could scream it for hours

But let’s be real whose going to listen

This feels like an audition

It seems like a tradition

Just different conditions

Another black man speaking must be a restriction

I mind as well call in a demolition

I’m just not getting the recognition

I’m stuck on this mission

Trying to be inspirational

The dream starting to be fictional

More and more try to inspire others

But they become losers

If you not writing a verse

Then you just falling headfirst

Being black and standing up for the people is the worst

So let’s continue to chant black power

It’s not going to do anything

This whole word is a competition

Everyone fighting for the money

That’s the testimony everyone speaks of

If you don’t have it you will get cut off

This is a godless world

They say money isn’t everything

But all I see is high expensive things on the television screen

Prices have been taken to the extreme

I write to serve a purpose

But to other’s I’m just running a circus

The media make you feel worthless

The people on there is remorseless

Make you regret being alive

Yet you try to blend

To even pretend

Depending on a like or comment to get you by

Selfie after selfie just to stay in the conversation

What did that accomplish

Nothing

Now you rushing to your old self

Isn’t that the purpose of social media

To defeat your inside

It divides you from popular and being true

If you popular, you have the power

If you being true then your speaking to the choir

Have I expired

I’m just trying to inspire

So what is one to do

I’m just mumbling though

If I’m not bringing in a cash flow

Then my rant got to go

All my generation does is spit a verse

I’m use to being second so much when will I be first

When will I have the power

Weekly Thoughts #28

I did it. I finally had my surgery. If you been reading and following then you’ll would know that this has been in the works for a couple of years. I went in for surgery on Wednesday. The surgery lasted 4 hours but for me it felt like I blinked and it was over.

The anesthesiologist put a mask on me and told me to breathe in and out. After 3 breaths he said he was going to put medicine in it. That was the last thing I remember before I was out. I woke up in recovery confused. I knew it was done because of how sore I was.

Now it has been 2 days since and it doesn’t seem real that I finally got it done. I can admit that my stomach is so sore physically. I can do limited moves around the house but working out is out the picture for awhile. Of course my liquid diet stays on for another couple of weeks.

Other than that I have been really happy lately. I haven’t felt depressed all month. Maybe this operation cured something already. But that’s it for this Weekly Thoughts. See you next week with another post like this. For now view my previous posts until tomorrow. Like, comment and subscribe to my mailing list.
